3B Cattle Company was established in 2009 with just a few commercial beef cows. Owner, Jimmy Brown and his daughters, Lauren and HelenAnn have always had a passion for raising livestock. Lauren and HelenAnn were members of the local 4-H club where they showed dairy cattle growing up. That started an interest in raising bottle calves and the rest is history. Soon, the farm moved onto beef cattle and after owning several different breeds settled on Black Angus and Herefords. The farm also raises broiler chickens and is home to four dogs and three horses. Jimmy’s daughters are all grown up now but still very active on the farm. Lauren is married to Ryan Langley and has a daughter, Payton (1). She works for NC Cooperative Extension as a Livestock Extension Agent in Alamance County. HelenAnn works for Grinz Orthodontics in Greensboro and Asheboro as their Marketing Director.
The goal of 3B Cattle Company is to produce quality replacement females that can perform and last in a herd. Heifers that make the replacement cut are sold private treaty off the farm each year as weanlings. Bull calves are castrated and sold through the local auction market as steers unless a request is made to purchase a steer. Currently, the farm offers fall-born registered Hereford and Black Angus x Hereford calves. If you are interested in purchasing a calf, please contact the farm so you can receive sale cattle information when it becomes available.
3B Cattle Company is a member of the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association, American Hereford Association, and American Angus Association. Lauren is also Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certified.
